Privacy policy
For outtonightstl.com and the Out Tonight STL app, operated by Out Tonight STL, St. Louis, Missouri · Last updated October 25, 2026
The short version: we measure how the site is used so we can make it better, and we ask about your preferences so we can tailor your experience. Your data is private: no one at Out Tonight STL can look up your individual activity, and we don’t sell it. We don’t show ads.
What we collect
- Usage and events (Google Analytics 4). GA4 records sessions and events, such as pages viewed, buttons and links clicked, features used (like Build My Night, search, filters and maps), and how far you scroll. It also records general details like device type, browser, screen size, approximate region and referring site. It uses cookies and similar identifiers to tell visits apart.
- Preferences you choose to share. We may ask what you’re into (for example music, comedy, food or nightlife), your area of St. Louis, or how you like to go out. Every question is optional, and we use your answers to tailor what you see.
- Information you send us. If you sign up for texts, send an update or contact us, we receive what you enter, such as a phone number, name or email address. Forms are sent to official@outtonightstl.com.
- Technical logs. Our web host may keep standard server logs, such as IP address and request time, for security and reliability.
How we use it
- To understand which parts of the site and app work, and which don’t.
- To tailor listings and suggestions to your preferences.
- To send texts or updates you’ve asked for.
- To keep the site secure and working.
Who can see your data
- No one at Out Tonight STL can look up your individual activity. We review aggregated reports, not individual records.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
- We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
- Service providers process data for us under their own privacy terms: Google (Google Analytics 4), FormSubmit (form delivery), our text messaging provider, and our hosting provider.
- Future business accounts. We plan to offer businesses a back-end login where they can see session and event activity. These views will be aggregated. Sessions will not be tied to a specific person, and businesses will not be able to identify you.
Cookies and your choices
Google Analytics uses cookies to measure sessions. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, or opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Blocking cookies may limit some features.
- Skip any optional preference question.
- Block or delete cookies, or use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Ask us to delete information you’ve sent us by emailing official@outtonightstl.com. We’ll act within 30 days.
Other services
Map tiles load from Esri (ArcGIS) and the map library from unpkg. Like any web request, these services see your IP address. Links to tickets, menus, directions or Instagram open those sites, which have their own privacy policies. The phone app does not use GPS. Your saved nights and reminder settings stay on your phone.
Children
Out Tonight STL is for people 18 and older. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
- Age confirmation. Every sign-up form (texts, early access, Orbiting and any future account) asks you to confirm you are 18 or older before it sends. Sign-ups that don’t confirm are not saved.
- Verification. Confirming your age is self-declared on the website. Where a feature needs stronger checks (for example, accounts in the app), we will verify age at sign-up and may use an age-check service. We will tell you before we start.
- If we learn a person is under 18, we delete their information and stop any texts or messages to them. Tell us at official@outtonightstl.com and we’ll act within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. Major changes will be posted on the site.
